Relationship with Pakistan
What is established
AJK’s relationship with Pakistan involves constitutional, administrative, financial, and security dimensions that have changed over time. Those links are documented in statutes, budgets, official statements, and reporting.
What is disputed or contested
Whether those arrangements amount to autonomy, administration, or something else is politically contested. Pakistani, AJK, Indian, and international sources do not use the same frame.
Terminology used by Dhār
Dhār describes documented institutional links rather than using campaign slogans. Where a source uses a loaded term, the record quotes it as that source’s language.
Why that terminology is used
The archive’s job is to keep the paper trail usable. Choosing one nationalist vocabulary would disguise contestation.
