Digital Preservation
Identifier scheme: public records receive a permanent ID of the form DHAR-TYPE-YEAR-NNNN (for example DHAR-EVT-2026-0001). Identifiers are never recycled. Cited records that are withdrawn remain resolvable as a tombstone.
Checksums: SHA-256 is stored for uploaded documents and media. Image originals are kept on private storage; public pages serve JPEG derivatives with EXIF stripped.
Exports: authorised editors can download JSON or CSV of the corpus. Scheduled off-site backups of the database and storage/ media, with a restore test at least quarterly, are the operational baseline. A backup that has never been restored is not yet a proven preservation system.
Preferred public derivatives: JPEG/WebP for images; PDF for documents where a public copy is cleared. Preservation masters stay in the original upload format on the private disk.
